• Submit a Resume/CV. Include experience in the area of computer science, as well as leadership experiences and the impact you have created.
• Submit a 1-minute video, explaining why you would like to receive this scholarship. Upload it on Youtube and share the link in the application.
• Write an essay of maximum 250 words to tell us about ‘What adversity have you faced, and how did it impact your career?’
• Write an essay of maximum 300 words to tell us about the following:

1. How do you plan to use computer science to make the world a more sustainable place?
2. If you receive this scholarship, how will you use it to advance your passion and the goals of this scholarship?

Scholarship Worth

Selected students or candidates will receive:

• A financial award of 750 USD towards tuition and education-related expenses
• An invitation to visit the YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California, USA.
• An opportunity to submit a proposal, and potentially receive funding of up to 225 USD to spend on growing computer science in the local community.

Selection Procedure (Venkat Panchapakesan Scholarship)

Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the overall strength of their essays and application materials compared to the entire applicant pool.

The selection will be full and final, and the applicants will confirm they will not dispute the same at any point of time.

Therefore, any employee of Google Inc. including its affiliates and subsidiaries are not eligible to apply for Google scholarships. Persons who are (1) residents of embargoed countries, (2) ordinarily resident in embargoed countries, or (3) otherwise prohibited by applicable export controls and sanctions programs may not apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to be able to secure the scholarship…

• The candidate must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in any college/university in India for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years.
• Candidates must be pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field.
• Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship is a one-time scholarship. While previous applicants are encouraged to reapply, unfortunately, previous recipients of any Google scholarship, including the Venkat Panchpekan Memorial Scholarship, are not eligible to apply.

Application Procedure for Google Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship

• Firstly, You must Submit an essay (300 words maximum) to tell us about the following:
  How do you plan to use computer science to make the world a more sustainable place?
  If you receive this scholarship, how will you use it to advance your passion and the goals of this scholarship?
• Submit an essay (250 words maximum) to tell us about the following: What adversity have you faced, and how did it impact your career? Please explain the steps you took to overcome it.
• Submit a video (1 minute maximum) telling us why you would like to receive this scholarship. Please upload it on YouTube and share the link in the application.
• Submit your resume/CV. Be sure to include your experience in the area of computer science, as well as your leadership experiences and the impact you have created.
• Finally, Submit two letters of recommendation. They can be from your faculty or supervisors at your workplace (internship, part-­time job, full-­time job).
