Community Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund | North Louisiana

Community Foundation of North Louisiana has created the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund to assist nonprofit organizations that are directly responding to the coronavirus pandemic. In the next few days and weeks, our staff will assess the needs of the community, as we’ve done after previous disasters.

It will coordinate grants from this fund with the response of other organizations and local and state government. Details on how nonprofits might request and access general operating resources from the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund will be announced at a later date, once donations have begun to accumulate in the Fund. Applying for Community Foundation COVID-19 Grants

Grant applications for the second round of funding are now open! The deadline to apply is Thursday, November 16, at 5:00 PM. Please see the eligibility criteria below and apply through the CFNLA Grant Portal.

Eligibility Criteria

Geographic Area: Programs must serve Caddo and/or Bossier Parishes.

IRS status: All applicants must have tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code or be described as an appropriate grantee for a community foundation under the IRS Code. An organization must have received its 501(c)(3) ruling letter from the IRS prior to applying for funding.

Audit: An organization whose annual gross revenue is $750,000 or more is required to submit a current audit. An organization whose annual gross revenue is below $750,000 is required to submit a current financial compilation.

Form 990: All applicants must be in good standing with the IRS regarding their Form 990 filing requirements. A copy of the organization’s most recent Form 990 must be submitted as part of the grant application.

The Program:

In order to qualify, the proposed program must be an existing program that requires funding as a direct consequence of the COVID-19 Pandemic due to one of the following: 1) the existing program has expanded in size and scope due to an increase in the number of clients as a result of COVID-19; 2) the program has become more expensive due to a change in circumstances directly resulting from COVID-19; or 3) the program is new it responds to needs directly related to COVID-19.

Most Common Symptoms of Covid-19

It’s very important that you get a full details of the basic symptoms of Corona Virus in other to prevent them and save more lives:

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization.

Most common symptoms:

fever
dry cough
tiredness

Less common symptoms:

aches and pains
sore throat
diarrhoea
conjunctivitis
headache
loss of taste or smell
a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes

Serious symptoms:

difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
chest pain or pressure
loss of speech or movement

Seek immediate medical attention if you have serious symptoms. Always call before visiting your doctor or health facility.

People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should manage their symptoms at home.
On average it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infect with the virus for symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days.
