HOW TO APPLY

Applications for Chevening Scholarships can only be allowed to use the Chevening online application.

Essential: Three different UK master’s course choices
Elective: English language test results (if you’ve already met the requirements)
Optional: UK master’s university offer (if you’ve already met the requirements)

Required documents

You should submit your starting application without these voluntary documents and update them at any point up to 12 July 2020. Please note that only form in PDF format can be update and cannot be over 5MB in size.

If you are in due course conditionally selected for a Chevening Scholarships. It’s essential that you produce evidence that meet the Chevening English language requirements. And that you must at least offer one from an eligible course before 12 July 2020 in order to process.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country
  2. Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended
  3. Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree in the UK.
  4. Have at least two years’ work experience (this may be up to five years for fellowship programmes, so please refer to your country page for further details)
  5. Apply to three different eligible UK university and received an unqualified offer from one of these choices by 12 July 2020
  6. Meet the Chevening English language.

Note: Immediately you are defined as parents or step-parents, children, sponsor (where the couple have been in a relationship for at least two years)
Have earlier studied in the UK with funding Government-funded scholarship. Meanwhile if you have formerly studied under a UK Government-funded scholarship (including Chevening). You will be eligible to apply for a Chevening Fellowship for five years.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

You are free to meet the Chevening English language tests for more:

  • Academic IELTS
  • Pearson PTE Academic
  • TOEFL iBT
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CEA)
  • Trinity ISE II (B2)

COURSES
Choose your three courses carefully as you won’t be able to change them after submitting your application. Candidate will need to select three different master’s courses at the same university . You should choose your field of study carefully and select courses which reflect your current.

In order to be eligible, the courses you choose must be:

  1. Full-time
  2. Start in the autumn term
  3. Taught master’s or PhD
  4. Lead to a master’s or PhD
  5. Based in the UK and other countries

Course cannot be:

  • Distance learning
  • Part-time
  • Less than nine months in duration
  • More than 12 months in duration
  • PhD or DPhil are not permitted
